This ride is traditionally a non-competitive/non-commercial long-distance cycling events where the emphasis is on completing the route and distance within the time limit. It is not a race.

 

Clockwise > 75h time limit, with a suggested split, each day around 340 kms

The following information is to help you arrive at the start knowing what to expect.

 

Parking suggestions in Anwerpen

* Parking South Rivierenhof

* Parking West Rivierenhof

* P+R Schoonselhof

* Indigo is the large, commercial, secure provider but please check their price list.  

* Please check all of the signs and regulations. Car are parked at your own risk. 

* There is no parking at ASH Hotel

 

Sunday 9th

* For those staying at ASH Hotel, the check-in opens at 15h. 

* I will be there from 16h to 18h30. You can collect your paper notes (control info, useful tips, tourist guide and cap) and drop bag for the following day. If you can, please come and say hello. This will take pressure of the start. 

* There are plenty of restaurants nearby, between the hotel and the Central train station. 

* Bike parking is underneath the ASH hotel. 

* Hotel bag storage is available between the start and finish.

* Towels can be rented from ASH hotel.

 

Monday 10th 

* To reduce the crowd at the start, please only come to the start -

- from 5h15 for the 6h depart

- from 6h for the 6h30 depart and 

- from 6h30 for the 7h depart. 

* A packed breakfast and coffee will be provided.

* For the bag drop, a bag will be provided. This is 40cm by 34cm. Please do not put liquids in the bag. One drop is already included but - NEW - I can now provide a bag drop in BOTH Luxembourg and Mons. If you want an extra bag drop, please bring €5 in cash to the start.

 

Luxembourg

* Echternach has many places to eat in the evening. 

* The hostel is 2km after Echternach, on the GPX track. 

* Towels are not available. 

 

Mons

* The hostel is very central with many places to eat just outside. 

* Towels can be rented for €2.

 

Back at Antwerpen

* I will arrive back on Wednesday at midday. Your bag drop(s) will be available from then onwards. 

 

Jersey

* For those who have ordered a jersey, the delivery will be at the end of July.  

* There will be also be a chance to buy one after the event. I will send out a link post-ride.

Other

* During the first few kms in Antwerpen and with the excitement of starting, please remember that there will be traffic and there are quite a few tram lines embedded in the road > a real danger to your rims ;(

* Regarding safety, priority to the right normal in Belgium.

* Controls are all public places. Bringing a lock is highly recommended.

* At each control town, get your brevet card stamped in a cafe or pharmacy. A bank or till receipt is also OK, as is a photo of the town sign with you in it.   

* It is also recommended to carry some cash. Cash machines are found in dedicated places, usually painted in black with yellow CASH branding.

* There will be volunteers at Luxembourg and Mons hostels throughout the night. You can arrive and depart at any time. 

* There isn't the garage shop luxury in Belgium and many villages are very quiet. I will provide a paper guide as to what can be found in the places that you will pass through.  

* During the event, I need to account for everyone. If you quit, it is very important that you let me know. This will take you 30 seconds and it's polite :)

​Do we have an individual room? Or is it only a bed in a dormitory? Dormitory in the youth hostel.
