200km Winter Warmer from Tervuren

description
From Tervuren, the route heads south through Overijse and Hoeilaart, through the beech forest of the Sonian Forest, and on via Alsemberg into Walloon Brabant. It follows the canal past the spectacular Ronquières inclined plane to Château de Seneffe, then crosses the Hainaut countryside to Pont-à-Celles and Luttre. Next come Napoleonic battlefields: Brye and Ligny, where Napoleon won his last victory in 1815, then Gembloux and its abbey. Open Hesbaye farmland passes Ramillies and Neerwinden, both 17th- and 18th-century battle sites, before Tienen. Hageland lanes via Lovenjoel and Heverlee lead back to Tervuren.
