200km Ticking Over from Tervuren

description
Ticking Over is scheduled just ten days before Paris-Brest-Paris, so it is built to keep your legs turning over without taking anything out of them. It is easy, rolling and flat, with only 330m of climbing.

From Tervuren the route heads north across the Brabant countryside to Mechelen. It then follows the Nete valley through Duffel and Lier into the quiet lanes of the Kempen. Heading east, it passes through Westerlo and Laakdal to Tessenderlo, then crosses the Albert Canal country to Beringen. From there it turns south into the Hageland via Rummen and Geetbets, and an old railway path carries you smoothly to Tienen. The return west runs through Boutersem, Heverlee and Bertem, finishing back in Tervuren. Expect long, sheltered stretches, gentle gradients and plenty of space to settle into a steady rhythm.
